I’m the founder of Ethel’s Club — we are growing into a full-blown wellness platform where you can find written content, streaming videos, live guided series and more. We launch in a few weeks, pitches are accepted on a rolling basis. We are seeking pitches and stories centering Black/Queer/POC folks through the lens of “wellness” topics like: mind/body, food, mental health, spirituality, financial health, poetry, community, sex & romance, music, art, friendship etc. Details below to submit a pitch.

ETHEL'S CLUB DIGITAL JOURNAL

Ethel's Club is looking for pitches that center the joy, creativity, and wellness of people of color. We believe there are multiple ways to be well and that our curiosity can be fed through many forms.

We are looking for content that falls within the following categories:

• Lifestyle
• Food
• Spirituality
• Sex/Romance
• Friendship
• Queer/Gender
• Art (Music, Visuals, Literature)
• Mental Health
• Culture (Politics, Societal, Individual, etc.)
• Mind/Body

We publish online content on a rolling basis centered around our rotating quarterly theme. We are looking for personal essays that connect to larger public issues, reviews of books, TV shows, podcasts and movies, listicles, how-to articles, poetry and critical essays. Ethel's Club is looking for digestible and accessible content that nourishes our minds and inspires us to prioritize our wellness.

We do not publish fiction. If submitting poetry please note that in the answers and describe how your piece connects with our theme and upload your work. We do not accept work that has already been previously published. Payment varies for each piece and we pay .50 cents per word across all formats of writing. Please submit pitches through Submittable, our editorial team will reach out to you if we want to accept your pitch.

QUARTERLY THEME: ARRIVAL

Arrival speaks both to the journey completed and the journey to come, leaving us on uncertain ground. Arrivals serve as gateway between where we were and the excitement of the next place we enter. We are coming through a transformative and painful year, the world has changed rapidly and so have we. We are here and alive and brimming with life! How are you celebrating your arrival? How do you arrive into the present moment with your full self? We often see arrivals as a fresh start, but we know our legacies, stories and ancestors are always living inside of our bones - how do their journeys connect to where you are arriving now? We want to hear your rituals that allow you to ground yourself before a new journey. We want to know how time and space bend for you, how do we arrive to the same moments as changed people? Where do you think we are arriving as a collective? Every arrival is an opportunity to ascend and continue growing in spirals.

You may submit two pitches for the theme for us to consider.
