Pro-ficiency is a rapidly growing market leader that seeks a contract Script Writer (SW) to join our amazing team of seasoned professionals. The SW plays a critical role in the writing of the scripts for our clinical research training simulation modules.

Our company is hot, it’s growing fast and we are taking the market by storm. We need a highly experienced writer with excellent writing and story construction skills.

Our simulations are composed of 100-130 short videos that our unique software combines together in a choose-your-own-adventure style approach that adapts the needs of each user, identifying and remediating specific skill gaps to correct for problems before they cause problems with real subjects or other operational issues in multi million dollar clinical trials. Clinical trial content is often dry, and it requires tremendous creativity to envision ways to make it interesting and engaging for our users (investigators/physicians and nurses/study coordinators and Clinical Research Associates or CRAs). We are good at this, and our creativity and technology are just two of the reasons why we are winning in the clinical trial space.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

5+ years’ experience as a script writer
Working knowledge of medical concepts and medicalese
Medical writing experience a plus but not necessary
Clinical Research experience and an understanding of the drug and device development process a plus but not necessary

SKILLS

Strong writing, story telling and communication skills
Skilled in developing relevant and impactful training for adult learners

ABILITIES

Ability to translate and simplify complex information into clear and simple language
Ability to create a compelling dialogue from dry, technical information into an engaging story
Ability to use a variety of software programs including google docs, storyboard software
Ability to work under tight timelines

RESPONSIBILITIES

The contract SW liaises with the Simulation Producer and Creative Committee to develop a script outline based on the critical decisions and scenarios to be modeled in the simulation training modules. The SW writes the script to align with the relevant “simulation elements” (e.g., 2-actor scene of a physician and patient, description of a process to accompany a 3-D animation, etc.). The SW may interact with the client and/or medical advisor to clarify technical language. The SW works with the Simulation Producer to craft the teleprompter script and fine tune written language to flow eloquently as the spoken language.

It is worth noting that we work in an FDA regulated industry, and as such are required to comply with rigorous SOPs, Process and Performance/Quality standards.
