CALL FOR PITCHES: I’m an editor looking to commission narrative-driven first-person essays. Our grants pay roughly $1/word. Pitch me!
I'm interested in essays tackling economic inequality in the U.S. across a range of topics including but not limited to religion, immigration, education, parenting/families, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, health, maternal health, disability, housing, aging, work, etc.
Tips: I only read pitches that land in my work email. Read the above guidelines and summary, become familiar with our work by reading it, pitch a story not a topic, explain why this story matters now and why you are the one to tell it.
I'm especially interested in stories based in the Midwest and South and want to encourage BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and others underrepresented in media to pitch me stories.
