CALL FOR PITCHES! For the next print issue the magazine, we're looking to commission a piece in our Secret History vertical, where we tell the stories of artists, designers, movements and journeys that shaped culture today.
We are looking for stories that are intriguing and obscure, yet which resonate with a wider public. Our last edition was on paisley, tracing its Persian origins, woodblock printing in India and its journey through colonialism, to the Scottish town of Paisley and back to Jaipur.
A quick reminder that we have a focus on the visual arts. In pitches for Secret History I'm keen to hear stories of subversion, collectives, unusual forms of art-making, subculture, outsiders, diasporic communities, colonial journeys and ancient crafts.
Our current rate for most pieces in print is 20p/word and we are after around 600 words, so £120.
