Call for pitches: I'm looking to commission some new columns. I'm seeking narrative nonfiction that uses personal stories to explore a clear, specific subject or theme—please read through the examples before pitching.
Please send an overview of the column’s theme—the subject, why you’d like to explore it, and why it’s a good fit for the magazine—pitches for the first three essays that outline the personal story and its connection to the theme, and ~3 clips of previous work (if possible).
Writers will be paid for each instalment. Rates start at $200. Please send pitches by Thursday, July 8th. Black, Indigenous, and racialized writers are especially encouraged to pitch.
