JOB DESCRIPTION:

The client team runs the storytelling function for client IT as Customer Zero and Customer One. We are a small team of communications professionals running a fast-paced, dynamic environment at the center of a world-class IT organization and company.

We're looking for a communicator with a great attitude, who is smart, creative, thoughtful, collaborative, and organized.

THE ROLE:

This position is responsible for developing and delivering communications around client IT adoption and use of Client products and solutions within client. The candidate will work closely with IT subject matter experts to develop and publish the appropriate assets and to advise internal customers about communications strategy and messaging.
Candidate will help communicate new product deployments across internal and external channels. In this role, the candidate will work with the Sr. IT Comms Manager, including ensuring a consistent voice and format and writing engaging, accessible stories about complex leading-edge technologies.
The writer is responsible for helping IT technical teams with writing, reviewing, and storytelling efforts in support of the Client on Client strategy
The candidate is creative, organized, flexible, collaborative, and able to interact comfortably with all levels—from interns and new college grads to directors and executives.
The ideal candidate has superior communication skills, experience with organizational communications, excellent writing, and presentation skills, and can synthesize complex information into a compelling story using plain language.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a communications partner to IT subject matter experts—from concept to completion
Create and manage internal and external content, including e-mail, abstracts, blogs, presentations, invitations, newsletters, case studies, video, social platforms, webpages, social channels, scripts, and podcasts to convey key messages
Manage customer expectations and approvals process for assets
Learn and apply Corporate Marketing and Brand guidelines
Translate complex stories into plain language
Self-directed with innovative approaches to messaging
Serious attention to detail
Manage multiple projects concurrently
Tell great stories—able to digest complex technical information, distill it, and connect the dots for anyone to understand

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

5+ years of communications experience—high tech industry preferable
5+ years of project management experience
Bachelor's degree in journalism, PR, or equivalent
Strong writing and editing skills—must be able to edit own work
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders while being a champion for the written word
Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to build a business case around new ideas, build consensus or support, and execute with precision
Flexible, comfortable with ambiguity
Attention to detail; must be able to edit own work
Previous experience in a large high-tech environment is important
Extremely organized multi-tasker
Proficient with collaboration tools for content creation and tracking, such as Microsoft Teams, JIRA, SharePoint, OneDrive, Confluence, etc.
Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels across all time zones
comfortable juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Technical enough to be comfortable working with IT teams and translating technical jargon
Good writer with experience in a large enterprise; could have either a marcom content development or technical writing background
Understanding that deadlines are not flexible (a journalism background is referable)
Familiar with AP Style, with experience applying corporate mktg. and brand guidelines
Proficient in all MS Office tools and a strong design sensibility
Familiar with WordPress, Social Studio, and online publishing tools
