My email inbox is open to pitches for arts stories (features, reviews, criticism, interviews).
I like interesting arts features, reviews of quality shows (focus on NYC though), unique artist profiles, and stories about the state of the arts world.
Usually the pieces depending for reviews it can go from 900-1,200 words (depending on what the writer wants to say) but reported features can be a little longer and tend to be more like 1,000-1,300 words actually more (but am open to longer word counts depending on the feature itself). I like to work with writers on word count depending on the piece and their preferences. I usually try to aim for $200 minimum but depending on budget, sometimes it’s $180 but try to go $200 and up.
