Articulate with Jim Cotter is a Daytime Emmy Award-winning public television series that connects audiences to the human stories behind art, offering a trustworthy, visually stimulating, never ordinary take on classical, contemporary, and popular art forms. From acclaimed musicians and best-selling authors to designers changing the way we live, each episode explores what great creative thinkers and doers can tell us about who we are, who we’ve been, and who we might become.
Articulate Studios, the production company behind Articulate, is seeking freelance writers to write scripts for the show on an ongoing basis. Articulate Studios’ in-house editorial team pitches guests, conducts background research, and conducts the interview. Writers are responsible for crafting 7-15 minute guest profiles that combine voiceover narration with interview segments, using the content provided by the editorial team. Any additional research required during the scriptwriting process is conducted by the writer.
The ideal candidate has a proven ability to turn raw material into a clear, compelling, structured narrative, experience writing for radio and/or television, and a commitment to accurate reporting.
Articulate Studios is based in Philadelphia, but freelance writers can work remotely from anywhere.
Pay varies depending on the length of the script. For a typical 2,500-word script, including interview quotes, pay is $1,000.
