Freelancers: I’m looking for pitches about the phenomenon of CRUNCH and why crunchy foods are so satisfying to eat. Some possible angles:
- the science behind why humans are drawn to crunchy foods + how it interacts with our other senses (hi, pop sci writers!)
- the importance of crunch in various cuisines + food traditions (specifically from writers with personal connections to those traditions)
- the relationship between crispiness and crunchiness (these are different but related textures!) -surprising tales from the annals of crunch history / the evolution of crunch -science-based and/or chef-tested approaches for attaining maximal crunch at home
What I’m not looking for:
- lists of your favorite crunchy snacks
- stories about a dish you tried once
- stories about making crunchy food healthier
- restaurant profiles or travel stories
