As for rates, I would say they depend a lot on the specifics, so it's hard to pin down a number. Most of what I assign is $250-$500, but I would invite people to reach out to me to discuss. We're not a big, corporate food mag with Condé Nast budgets, but we pay freelancers on time and I always endeavor to be chill to work with and respectful of my contributors' labor.
