PITCHING A FEMINIST CITY GUIDE
Unearth Women is always searching for that next great Feminist City Guide to add to our website. Our Feminist City Guides spotlight female and minority-owned businesses, organizations helping local women, or historical monuments celebrating female figures. Feminist City Guides consist of 15 places minimum for each place mentioned in the guide, as well as a 300 word minimum introduction. Please note, we are in the process of reformatting our guides. Please use this guide as a recent example.
The DOS and DON’TS of pitching a Feminist City Guide:
- DO familiarize yourself with our existing Feminist City Guides.
- DON’T pitch us a guide we have already published.
- DO share examples of the type of places you plan to include in your guide and why.
- DO include 1-2 links of previously published work.
- DO tell us briefly about yourself.
- DO tell us if you can provide original photography or not.
WORD COUNTS AND PAY RATES
Our digital stories are typically between 800 and 1500 words and pay anywhere between $100 and $200 depending on length, interview access, and writer’s experience.
All payouts are made within 30 days from receipt of invoice via Paypal or direct bank transfer.
