Pitches wanted (tech) | $400 to $1 per word

Tekendra TK Parmar, Tech Editor of Insider, is looking for pitches:

What am I looking for? Stories that show us how tech is changing everyday business and life — what it is like to work in tech, live around tech, use it, enter or leave the industry, etc. We do first-persons, as-told-to essays, profiles, as well as deeply reported stories.

Be sure to pitch a solid angle: Tell me in a few tight sentences the main development, one or two of its likely effects, and the logical major reaction to them. Or if you're writing an as-told-to or profile, the facets of the character you'd like to focus on.

From time to time, I'll have some specific calls for pitches. Here are a few to start with:

I'm looking for first-persons or as-told-to with interesting advice for tech workers. Anything from how to overcome issues like imposter syndrome to tips on breaking into a field like cybersecurity is fair game. Insider tech support if you will.

I'm also looking for stories on how startup founders made their first $1,000,000. What steps did they take? What advice do they have.

I'm also looking for reporters who want to interview people working in tech from gig workers to CEOs for a Silicon Valley job/money diary that answers the question what it's like living in the valley on these ranging salaries?

Our enterprise desk covers how cloud computing, advances in developer tools, and technology like artificial intelligence and quantum computing are changing and impacting businesses and people. We'd love reported stories on growing trends in the world of software developers or cloud companies, or even first-persons with career advice on breaking into these fields.

Have a story that doesn't quite match these requests? I still want to hear them. I'm especially interested in stories about access to technology, emerging tech like VR and AI and how they impact people's lives. I also love pitches on bow big tech is shaping societies and economies outside of Silicon Valley and across the world.
