SMCI is seeking a creative writer with experience in interviewing; creating stories and scripts for posting via SharePoint, Video or Animation incorporating AP style. This role will create and manage ongoing content about new technology solutions and offerings. Requires creative writing skills, story telling and interview skills; and some exposure/experience with video and animation.
Would help if this person has a 'writing creative journalistic background.' Knows how to interview Sr. Management like a journalist. Can write scripts in all mediums; videos, paper, etc.. Nice to have video editing software experience, i.e. editing a video. On paper, i.e. slide deck. Understand and has worked with animation and how animation and the story work together in a video…”how animation works, “how do we get from point a to point b.” Interviews and could guide a video editor for final release.
Can translate technical talk, jargon into laymen’s terms. The audience reading this is not going to be tech savvy. Feel comfortable when interviewing tech people and ask them to translate to the layman audience. Need to be able to talk to subject matter experts. Incorporate the Associated Press (AP) style – ‘quick stories’…quick hits. Like People Magazine, quick stories.
Manager is looking for writers that can dive right in, interview subject matter experts and develop stories quickly. Will know the right interview questions to ask as a journalist and knows how to adhere to Associated Press style.
Very nice to have – understanding digital / technology and embrace it.
Very nice to have – managing an editorial calendar. Thinking strategically – ‘how do I fill the newspaper (as in example) with stories, today, tomorrow, next week, etc.
