Direct Relief, a medical aid nonprofit, is seeking a few great writers to produce a series of articles connected to the organization’s recently launched Fund for Health Equity.
The Fund for Health Equity is a new initiative that provides financial support to community health centers, free and charitable clinics, community-based organizations, and educational institutions fighting against the inequities that further health disparities among marginalized groups in the U.S.

Writers will be asked to either: 1) profile a community-based organization receiving funding to implement or expand a program designed to address health inequities, or 2) author a story about a few organizations whose work is connected thematically.
Direct Relief is looking for writers with backgrounds or experiences that reflect the communities it serves, including experience working with nonprofits or a well-established history of reporting on public health or equity issues. People with disabilities, people of color, and gender nonconforming candidates are encouraged to apply.
The hope is to develop a long-term relationship with one or more writers interested in pursuing similar assignments with Direct Relief on an ongoing basis.
Pay: For each story of 800-1200 words, the pay will be $1250
