HOW SHOULD I PITCH YOU?
In your pitch, tell us who you are and why you’re the person to write this piece. Explain your reporting plan if you have one. A reporting plan explains who you plan to talk to, where you plan to go, and the access you currently have for a story. We may want to talk to you more about your pitch to make sure it’s right for us, so please be prepared for further questions.
Features are typically between 1200 and 2500 words, with rates starting at $400 for short essays and 50 cents a word for reported features, depending on a writer’s experience and expertise.
