On a longer timescale, I'm looking to add an additional writer that I can send drafts of manuscript and clinical trial protocols to complete. The work usually involves doing PubMed searches to be able to complete Introductions and Discussions.
This is not a task for somebody who is unfamiliar with technical writing. You'll need to be able to look at graphs and tables from different fields and be able to interpret them well enough to write a few sentences in the results and discussion section about them. Most writers I have on file have either a PhD or MD. You need to be familiar with using EndNote or Zotero for citation management.
Right now I have an immediate need for a writer for a medical paper. The contact has provided a basic draft and it needs to be written up. I have figures and a table and will provide the target journal. I have about 600 words of text (that will need to be polished and expanded on) and about 6 references (that will likely be around 20-25 when complete). The final manuscript will probably be around 1,500 to 2,000 words. I'm flexible with payment depending on effort. I would imagine this project would be around $1,200-$1,500 (so around $1 per word).
Please DM me if you are interested and feel you can take on a project like this independently. The final product should be as close as possible to submission-ready. Obviously there may be areas that need to be clarified by the client (which can be addressed by leaving a comment in Word), but everything else should be buttoned up and polished. And to clarify, this is a ghost-writing task (no credit is given).
If this first project works out, I can send additional projects as they come in.
