Pitches wanted (science journalism) | $500 per article
Added 2021-09-01 19:49:54 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: THE OBJECTIVE
Deadline: 10 September 2021
Calling all science writers, activists, and scientists:
The Objective has received funding from the National Association of Science Writers to write four pieces about inequities within science journalism and science coverage. For more information, click here.
We will pay each writer $500 for an article of any length, medium, or subject, so long as it directly addresses how science coverage has failed—and how it can do better.
This was inspired by the number of science writers and communicators who are members of The Objective who recognize the failings of their own industries and know there are better ways of talking about climate change, health disparities, row-crop agriculture…the list goes on.
So if you think you have a strong take on how journalists, journalism, and newsrooms can do better, reach out to us! If you are unpublished, we will work with you step-by-step on a story—please don’t let "inexperience" keep you from reaching out!
