Fly on the Wall Productions is seeking a dynamic and effective freelance Writer – for short and long-term assignments - to provide substantive short-form video scriptwriting. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience writing first-person narrative scripts for video.

We’re looking for a natural storyteller nimble enough to write scripts on varying subjects from the plight of the homeless to high-level narratives about the promise of genomic medicine (and everything in between).

What sets our work apart from the crowd is the compelling narrative structure of our films – we bring our client’s mission to life – by interweaving interviews (some great – some not) into a powerful and engaging script.

Our films run the gamut from single-voice, self-narrated videos to large (15 character) ensemble pieces that are narrative mosaics about topics of the day – from COVID to the promise of medical miracles or the those on the ground providing mental health care to refugee camps in Iraq. Our films need to bring our clients’ mission to their audience in the most powerful way possible – to conjure empathy, sometimes tears and, ultimately, dollars.

We are looking for that someone with a strong grasp of the importance of marrying communication with engaging storytelling.

In particular – we are looking for a strong background in the following spaces: health care/science, higher education, and not-for-profit.

Along with your resume – please send us three videos in which you can claim credit for writing the script along with a cover letter (a must for being considered!)

Applicants whom we are considering will then be asked to write a sample script.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Freelance

Pay: $500 - 600 per day (based on experience)
