Happy to join as contributing editor on the magazine's 1-year anniversary. Besides my own work, I'm seeking original, high quality, off-narrative stories and voices about literature, history, thought, art, culture etc.
We pay between $500 and $800 depending on length and time/effort needed for the story. Also bear in mind we do longform writing (minimum 2,500 words).
Writers need not be based in the Middle East, nor need the stories have a Middle East connection. We've published on Haiti, Puerto Rico, Anthony Bourdain, the Netflix series Lucifer, etc. We just took a pitch on media coverage of FDR's paralysis in the 1920s and implications for disability rights today.
