Pitches wanted (SF music) | ~35 to 50 cents per word

I’m an assistant arts & entertainment editor now, at least through the end of the year. I’m focusing on music and I’d very much like to expand our pool of freelancers.
Would especially like to get more pitches from women, POC and queer writers. Also folks who grew up in the Bay. Also people who can hit a word count and meet a deadline. We pay around $300 for a 600-800 word feature.
I come from alt-weeklies and I miss them terribly! More interested in talking about the issues local artists are facing or an up-and-comer doing something weird and notable than a holiday concert by a major institution. Please pitch me accordingly.
Stories should have a strong local tie or angle, and I’d prefer to hear from people who know the Bay well.
