The Frisc Is Seeking an SF Housing and Development Reporter
The Frisc is looking for a part-time writer with some experience to cover housing in San Francisco on a regular basis. You must be based in SF or nearby, and willing to get out into the city and report.
The monthly contract would cover:
- Writing an average of 3 news/feature stories a month, at a length of around 1000 words each. (It could be two stories at 1500 words each, or four shorter pieces.) You’ll work with editors on drafts and revisions as well.
- Working with editors to supplement reporting with digital assets, such as images, graphs, and videos from source materials; communicating and coordinating with photographers, when necessary.
- Staying on top of specific projects that highlight the broad issues in SF’s housing crisis and development fights (730 Stanyan, 1979 Mission, 469 Stevenson, and so on).
Compensation: Typically, The Frisc pays its contributing writers by the word, depending on experience. For this contract, we are budgeting up to $1500/month.
