Pitches wanted (science, wellness) | 50 cents to $1 per word

We are looking for science stories about wellness. We're interested in:
- Science-based service journalism that helps readers and communities care for their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health
- Narratives about new, surprising research into physical and mental health, including unexplored connections between our bodies and minds
- Critical reporting on equity and wellness or potentially harmful wellness trends
- Personal stories about wellness that have a strong science component
Our rates for this series are between $0.50 and $1/word, depending on the writer's experience level and the complexity of the assignment. If you've got a story to tell, please email a pitch of roughly 3-4 paragraphs by 11/24.
Don't forget to explain why the story is intriguing and important, how you plan to tell it, the connection to science and health, and your reporting plan and ideas about sourcing. Drafts will be due no later than mid December. Looking forward to reading ideas!
