Pitches wanted (history) | $350+ per piece

I'm hoping to compile some more comprehensive pitch guidelines next year, but essentially what I'm looking for are brief outlines (roughly two paragraphs) detailing the story idea, why you're the right person to write it/why it's a good fit for us, and who you might interview. Our standard rate for first-time writers is $350, but there's some wiggle room in the budget (unfortunately not much), especially for returning writers. I'm always open to ideas on overlooked people/chapters in history and would love to hear pitches pegged to Black History Month and Women's History Month.
