MusicCareers is hiring a new writer to join their newsletter/blog writing team. We are looking for freelance writers that can provide approachable, and action-driving content with a focus on modern corporate recruiting best practices, candidate career progression, and other useful tools for navigating a new career in the music industry.

Writers will work closely with our SEO team to produce meaningful and impactful story topics. We’re looking for someone who can write long-form C-level interviews, educational features, and industry op-eds to be featured on the site's blog page and in our bi-monthly newsletter. While this role is primarily focused on music industry recruiting and career development, the ideal candidate is expected to be very nimble, with the ability to write and edit for a variety of subjects — from human resources to NFTs.
This role is entirely REMOTE with an immediate start. We are accepting and reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience reporting and writing Experience with WordPress and other online publishing systems and spreadsheet software such as Excel. A deep understanding of storytelling and capturing reader attention Solid proofreading and copyediting skills A broad knowledge base spanning multiple industries and company types A strategic thinker with a talent for articulating ideas and presenting work to internal partners Cultural competence and familiarity with inclusive journalism practices, and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive coverage. A fundamental understanding of recruiting practices or the music industry Speed, close attention to detail and accuracy, and clean copy Experience writing in a corporate tone, ghostwriting for executives and with AP Style is a plus

Base pay is €150 per 850+ word article (max 2 articles per month)
