Pitch call: I'm reading argument-driven personal essays that incorporate cultural analysis, for publication in early 2022. Topics may vary, though I'm keen on: travel and postcolonial writing, television, food/drink, and style.
More info in my pitch guide above, but yes we pay. For researched and reported pieces, I'm paying $250 each. Looking at 2000 words max-ish. Pitch-to-pub is usually six weeks and Catapult remits payment 30 days after invoice receipt.
