We're now taking pitches for issue #7 of our food journalism magazine, Sliced. The theme for this issue is Sport! Please email editor@fedfedfed.com with samples, bio and pitch ideas if you're interested!

We want to produce timeless writing that interrogates food and agriculture. We’re interested in everything from history and culture to innovation, production, agriculture, and novel uses for foodstuffs. You can check out all our previous issues here:

We'll commission as soon as we see something we like. Payment is CD$0.15 per word for around 1200 words. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions. We're open to international submissions!

Here are some themes we're particularly interested in seeing pitches for: Food, sports science, and optimizing performance; developments in sports nutrition, or food and sport, that have merged into everyday life. Nutrition and supplements; athletes and players engaging with food in unusual ways to get the most out of it; sports where foods are inextricably linked to the playing of the game; athletes/players promoting and using dubious nutritional products and practices. Groundskeepers adapting to the climate crisis, droughts, and flooding, with insights/lessons for agriculture; foods and food technology developed specifically for consumption when watching sport.
