Remote UX Writer wanted (rental industry) | $50 per hour

The rapidly growing short-term rental industry offers an exciting alternative to traditional hotel lodging. This young industry is still developing, and discerning travelers have not had a single, trusted brand to book vetted vacation rentals, quality in-home services, and curated local experiences. KEY is where hospitality meets technology. Through its technology platform, travelers can book in-home services and local experiences for their vacation rental. KEY works with over 50+ property manager partners providing this elevated service to over 3,000 vacation homes in 30 destinations and growing.

THE ROLE:

As a UX Writer, you are an advocate for KEY design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps guests complete their tasks. You will write persuasive content to sell value propositions that are concise for web and app interaction. The content you create will contribute to user engagement and enhanced revenue through user conversions. You’ll be an active partner in UX Design and its process and will be an advocate for the user.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write clear, consistent, concise user-interface content and notifications.
• Understand the end-to-end customer journey and the pain points within, and help support through the power of words.
• Define what experiences need to say and when; provide the right information, at the right time.
• Identify areas where language can make a measurable customer impact, and advocate for your recommendations.
• Work with and iterate UI copy across a variety of touch points and experience.
• Usertest microcopy and other content to help identify which is most impactful.
• Maintain and evolve voice and tone guidelines and help evangelize those resources across the company.
• Partner and collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver compelling UX solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

• You have at least 3+ years of experience in UX Writing (product writing, content design, content strategy).
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Solid understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns.
• Have empathy for your audience and can anticipate user needs.
• Experience working within both apps and web experiences.

Please provide a portfolio of work that shows a range of content you’ve created for native apps and websites. Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
