This is my first week as news editor. Pitch me your stories.
We do not have a standard per-word rate, but we start at $250 for reported news articles that typically run about 800-1200 words. Longform pieces and news reports that require more reporting and writing will pay more, but the amount will vary depending on each piece. I'm also open to working with individual reporters on finding and applying to grants to pay for long-term investigations.
