The number one thing we're looking for in the new year is...bangers! What'a banger? We're borrowing that term from the incredible reporter Jeff Maysh, who talked about his love for writing bangers on the Longform podcast. A banger is a big, epic feature story that unfolds with tons of twists, turns, drama and intrigue throughout. Pieces like Jeff Maysh's own The Man Who Got America High for Narratively, Dylan Taylor-Lehman's The Curse of the Ship of Gold, or Caroline Rothstein's Legends Never Die. Fascinating, cinematic reads -- virtual page-turners that demand you sit down and devour them in one sitting, and make you want to tell everyone you know about them. For this call, we're looking for reported stories about events that happened recently or are continuing right now, as opposed to historical pieces. Our rates for deep dives like this start at $1,000 and go up for more ambitious reporting. So as you wind down for the holidays, think about that one epic story you've been wanting to write, and give us a pitch!
