Apartment Therapy Media helps people live happily and healthily in their homes. Since Maxwell Ryan founded Apartment Therapy in 2004, it has become an award-winning authority of design inspiration and real-life home solutions while Kitchn has earned its place as the go-to resource for home cooks looking to plan and prep better meals for their families. Recently, we launched Cubby (CubbyAtHome.com) as the third property in our network, focusing on parenting and life with kids at home. Together, the three sites reach over 650 million people every month across all platforms and we have more than 135 people working from across the U.S. (and internationally!), in addition to our sunny NYC office & studio.

The Creative Studio, Apartment Therapy’s award-winning branded content outfit, is accepting submissions for Freelance Writers. These people will work with our editors to produce smart service-oriented stories that are sponsored by our advertising partners. Projects are assigned on a per-job basis and vary in scope from simple 200-word dedicated emails to sprawling programs with many copy components. All assignments will originate from a supplied creative brief.

While our copy needs are specific to each project, our articles generally run around 500 words and strive to keep our readers’ interests front-of-mind. We in the Creative Studio take pride in producing content that—while working to achieve our advertisers’ goals—instructs, helps, or entertains our readers just as any other piece on Apartment Therapy would do. With that in mind, we are looking to work with writers who are in their best element when using a conversational voice that’s free of advertising tropes. Writers who live in that tricky balance between fresh internet-y English and cloying slang. And, of course, writers who meet every deadline on time with clean copy.

Our writers produce work that reaches a broad and general audience, but an interest or previous experience in any of these beats will be very helpful: Home Decor, Design, Finance, Real Estate, Home Entertainment, Parenting, Spirits, Auto and Shopping.
