Writers wanted (science) | $45-$55 per hour

COMPANY/PUBLICATION: UNC LINEBERGER COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER

UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center is looking to contract one or more freelance science writers to work on various scientific descriptive documents for the Center. This work will be done on a per project basis. This position requires excellent writing skills and attention to detail. For most projects you will be editing existing documents for consistency and making updates as needed. In limited cases, you will be asked to create technical documents for the Center. Some documents will require narrative development to ensure consistency across multiple documents or the creation of executive summaries. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Copy edit and update descriptive documents
• Review existing documents for various functional units of the Center
• Create summary of each unit

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent Writing Skills
• Science, Literature or Liberal Arts degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous science writing experience (please provide links to examples of your work)
• Knowledge of clinical research terms

RELEVANT SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Technology skills- Office 365, TEAMS
• Possess a high level of organization and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and understand new technology
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently

Pay: $45-55 per hour, depending on assignment
