Holly Young is looking for pitches for DW Global Ideas:
We are looking for deeply reported, compelling features on the environment and climate change from around the world. We like stories that shed light on creative and effective solutions, give a voice to the marginalized, show how policies are playing out on the ground and matter to people’s lives, or tell a story from an unusual perspective. We have an international audience and want writers that can break down complex topics into clear, understandable and powerful narratives. Your story should be original enough to appeal to specialists and accessible enough to inform a general interest reader.
Our features are normally 800-1000 words. We are also keen on multimedia stories: If you can provide audio or video, or would like to pitch a photo essay, please let us know below.
Please fill out our pitching form. We receive a high volume of pitches, so please keep it as concise as possible. Don’t pitch us a theme: Tell us what the story is. (You can pitch us in English or German.)
NOTE: Reports indicate that this opportunity will pay up to €350+ for an 800-1000-word online feature. It is recommended that you discuss the rate(s) individually upon acceptance of your pitch.
