Pitches wanted (SF/Bay Area) | up to $150 for nonfiction
Added 2022-03-15 07:13:20 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: THE SAN FRANCISCAN
Deadline: 31 March 2022
Calling all creative San Franciscans: Do you want to see your work published? Then send it our way! We're always looking for local talent/perspectives to feature and now's your chance to be featured. Our honorariums range from $50 for poetry and flash to $150 for longer nonfiction. No formal deadline but the sooner you submit, the better. 3/31 if a date is helpful.
NONFICTION PITCHES:
The San Franciscan publishes literary journalism including short- and long-form reported pieces, reviews featuring cultural commentary or critique, profiles, data visualizations, and more. We have very limited space for personal essays and prefer essays that include a reported angle. Nonfiction pitches should clearly describe the author’s idea, unique angle, and connection to the topic. Full submissions are welcome, but one- to two-paragraph pitches are preferred. Review past issues for guidance on style and tone.
Email pitches and nonfiction submissions to: submissions@thesanfranciscanmagazine.com. Please include a short bio (50 words or fewer) and 1-2 clips of previously published work.
We are now accepting pitches for Issue 6, planned for spring/summer 2022.
