We are always taking freelance pitches. Our base freelance rate is $350-$400 for 700-1000 word stories. We do pay higher rates depending on availability of funding for certain topics or complexity and length of the story. We also work with freelancers to publish work done with additional compensation the Solutions Journalism Network or The Society of Environmental Journalists, etc.
