Pitches wanted (green economy, energy, climate) (worldwide) | $300 up to $1 per word

We're looking for freelance pitches for our summer issue. If you have an original story about the green economy or energy/climate policy you think would be a good fit, please send your pitch.
We do accept pitches from outside of Canada. We're a quarterly magazine that gets distributed to subscribers of the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal (in certain markets), as well as the Globe and Mail. So we're trying to increase our American coverage (as well as our international coverage).
Our rates for magazine stories are experience-based:
- For journalists who rely on writing as their main source of income, we pay anywhere from 75 cents to $1/word, depending on experience
- We pay 50 cents a word for pieces by professionals who don't rely on writing as their primary income but provide researched features
- If a piece is just for web, we cap it at $300
For this issue, I would need the pitch by Monday, March 28th at 10am. But we take web pitches on a rolling basis, too!
