Pembroke Partners, LLC, is currently seeking a Senior Writer and Editor for Federal Reports to support an Agency in the National Capital Region.

- EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Minimum of an undergraduate (Bachelors) degree in English, writing, communications from a regionally accredited University registered with the Department of Education
- WORK WEEK: Part time
- SALARY: Negotiable
- START DATE: Within the next two months
INTRODUCTION
The contractor shall deliver (under Government COR direction) Senior Writing / Editing Skills. The incumbent should expect approximately 8 – 10 reports each year that will need review and edits before submission to the external oversight organization. This is a part time position where potential applicants will be able to work remotely or on-site at the National Headquarters. The Agency's operation tempo is fast pace often with changing requirements. Applicants will need to be available and immediately responsive to meet hard due date deadlines.
The SME assigned will be expected to work independently (under the direction of the COR) to deliver the following:
- Updates, edits, and proofreads of written reports
- Determining the clearest and most logical way to present information for a designated audience
- Generation of innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions
- Meets with subject matter experts to ensure specific topics are appropriately addressed
- Analyzes information for more accurate justification
- Writes in language addressing external oversight and Congressional committee members concerns
- Adheres to and provides recommendations for the Agency’s style guide
REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILL SETS/EXPERTISE
The Writer / Editor should have the following skills:
- Fluent and highly proficient in English as the first language
- Ability to pay attention to detail and cross references
- Professionally recognized in written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute taks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to take on challenges and changes
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Self-starter and multi-tasker
- Ability to check all complex materials for consistency and accuracy
- Ability to write business reports based on data statistics
- Proficient in WORD as well as proofreading skills
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of BA in English, writing, communications at a professional business level
- Writer and edit/copy editing certifications, a plus
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional business writing experience
- Advanced proofreading skills
- Portfolio of writing reports and other samples for review
