GoodRx is seeking freelance writers to contribute healthcare personal finance content that is accurate, clear, and compelling. The ideal candidate will be passionate and well-acquainted with personal finance issues involved in healthcare, with a background in journalism. Familiarity and comfort with data journalism and visualization is ideal.

We are looking for contributors with excellent written and oral communication skills who can draw on their experiences and interests to pitch and write articles for a consumer audience. You will need to be able to combine your real-life practical experience alongside in-depth reviews of the current studies and research to provide engaging, readable, and useful pieces.

As a freelance writer, you will be joining forces with a small team of editors to create content. You will work to create definitive content regarding health insurance and financial information relating to medical expenses and services. This includes coverage of topics ranging from private U.S. health insurance to Patient Assistance and drug coupon programs to Medicare.

Articles are typically about 800 to 1,200 words, with pay set at $500 per piece. The number and kind of pieces may vary according to your availability, expertise, and interest. The ability to pitch story ideas well and often is a huge plus. We will initially work on a trial basis and then discuss regular contributions.

We require writers to adhere closely to our style and sourcing guidelines, as well as to use empathetic and inclusive language. Experience with writing consumer-facing pharmacy content strongly preferred.

We are open to remote locations.
