I'm looking for a [fast] food writer! We write obsessive, unpretentious, and irreverent coverage of cooking and fast food, and I'm looking for a few freelancers to join us. Find details below, including pay and examples.
The focus is fast food and cooking, but from an unpretentious perspective. We're not Bon Appétit, and we're not writing recipes. We're raving about Taco Bell, what to buy at Costco, or which hot sauces give the worst diarrhea.
The pay is $150-$200 for regular articles and slideshows (and less for very quick, short newsy stories), and I'm looking for writers who can do ~3-6 stories per week. (Also professional, thoughtful, a good person, etc.)
Our angle is pretty distinct—unpretentious, passionate, and opinionated—so please approach your pitches accordingly. It's hard to walk the lines between authoritative, credible, thoughtful, and fun, but that's what you should be aiming for.
Deadline to get in touch: Not a hard deadline, but preferable by the end of next week.
