Our platform offers aspiring and established writers and photographers a space to share their work while helping local businesses, organizations, and individuals increase their brand’s reach and visibility through storytelling.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Every community is shaped largely by the diversity of its people and we want to share their stories. We spotlight the people, places, food, and art of our local communities to raise the awareness of travelers and locals. We are especially looking to amplify stories that highlight inclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility, and sustainability.

We are looking for passionate Storytellers who want to be part of discovering stories in their community that are worth sharing with the world! Is this you?

On this journey you will reach out to local businesses, organizations, and individuals to find those who’ll allow us to promote their product(s), service(s), or cause(s). You’ll then share their stories in the form of short articles that we call “Pedacitos”, which will be published on our website and shared through various online outlets. Your stories will be relatively short, between 750 and 1500 words, and read in 5-10 minutes. You’ll need to supply a minimum of 5 original and relevant pictures to be placed in the story; ideally 1 including yourself.

We are not writing product reviews, we are learning about the people behind local entities and providing a way to share those stories with the world. You know that favorite Mexican, Jamaican, or Indian restaurant in your neighborhood? Well, what if there was a place to learn more about the business owners and their family’s story? That’s exactly what we want to do!

You’ll be supported along the way! You’ll be assigned a specific demographic and area to focus your search that matches your interests. We’ll provide you with the resources and support you need to find and secure worthy stories to share and we’ll also help you become a better writer in the process!
