Remote Writer / Editor wanted (website relaunch, economic issues) | $80 to $100 per hour
Added 2022-06-08 21:51:43 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: ECONOMIC SECURITY PROJECT
Economic Security Project is seeking a writer/editor to help develop our brand voice through smart, accessible writing on economic issues. This wordsmith should be equally at home writing about our organizational wins as stories for our website, and ghostwriting opinion pieces on the topics of guaranteed income and antimonopoly issues as needed. This person should be able to read dense academic papers and extract accessible, compelling language about economic policy and infuse our organizational values throughout. We have a lot to say and are looking to work with someone who can add capacity until our website relaunches fall 2022. This person will work closely with our Executive Director and other members of the Senior Leadership Team as we work on the website relaunch.
Applicants should be proficient writers and editors with a keen sense of brand voice development. Expertise in economic justice is not necessary but a willingness to learn and familiarity with advocacy, racial justice, and equity frameworks will be helpful. Experience might include marketing, journalism, or even fiction writing, but adaptability and willingness to incorporate feedback in the editing process as we develop our voice is key.
This is an hourly contract position, estimated at 15-25 hours per week through October 2022 with an opportunity to continue and/or grow with the organization. $80-100 per hour, but we are open to discussions on rate commensurate with experience.
