WHY WORK HERE?
“Work from home, be an integral part of a team of brilliant and compassionate human beings, and use your creative gifts!”
FREELANCE, PART-TIME, WORK-FROM-HOME (WFH) COPYWRITER AND BUSINESS WRITER
Are you a highly motivated writer (“word nerd”) with a willingness to solve problems, learn on the go and laugh along the way? Also, does the idea of crafting creative headlines and composing succinct business articles from the comfort of your own home bring you joy? If so, we want to meet with you to discuss a bright future at Thinkwell Creative.
Thinkwell is a full-service marketing and communications agency headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee—but we also have “offices” in Atlanta, Georgia; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Birmingham, England, because all Thinkwellians work from home (and our homes are in some pretty cool places). Our team is a merry band of wordsmithing, graphic-designing, marketing and communications ninjas who've chosen to use our powers for good.
Working hand-in-hand with both small companies and Fortune 500 clients alike, Thinkwell team members have the opportunity to tell our clients’ stories in meaningful and memorable ways. For example, on any given day you might find us building marketing plans, designing beautiful branding, shooting cinematic videos, crafting creative campaigns, developing meeting content, influencing corporate strategy and quite literally making the business world a better and happier place. Thinkwellians are both very creative and very strategic, plus we’re ridiculously easy (and fun!) to do business with, so our customers love us. We’ve been in business for 21 glorious years … and we’re growing!
We’re on the hunt for a brilliant writer to lend a hand in the word nerd department. Currently the work is part-time (varying based on project load, but usually averaging somewhere between 6 and 10 hours per week). We anticipate the writing workload will grow as our company continues to grow.
Are you the right person for the job? To be successful, you’ll need to be experienced in copywriting, copy proofing, business writing, strategic planning, editing and deciphering/incorporating feedback.
WHY WORK AT THINKWELL:
- Work collaboratively with a highly creative team composed of truly amazing human beings.
- Competitive hourly wage, paid monthly for actual hours worked.
- Flexible schedule and work environment: part-time and fully remote.
- The ability to be the person you want to be outside of work (current outside-of-work things Thinkwellians do because of our flexible, family-first culture: care for elderly parents, pick up kiddos from school, nurse babies, foster dogs, train for marathons, volunteer, serve as missionaries, travel the globe).
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Write copy: Digest and reframe business objectives, brand guidelines and existing marketing assets into content for use in emails, newsletters, advertisements, pitch decks, letters, websites, social media platforms and more.
- Develop creative concepts: Dream up names, themes, concepts and pitches (including headlines and body copy), plus share your visual ideas with our graphics and video teams.
- Meet with the account executives and creative team: Thinkwell hosts a virtual 30-minute, weekly all-team meeting via Microsoft Teams. Other occasional internal meetings will be scheduled as needed. Occasionally we’ll ask you to meet with clients, too.
- Manage your schedule and hours: Upon joining Thinkwell, you’ll receive a license for our timesheet and project management software system. You’ll use the system to keep track of assignments, hours and project details – as well as any changes to your schedule or availability.

- Writing experience: You must be a skilled and experienced writer. We do not have a B-team at Thinkwell.

- Being a part of a team of gracious, talented human beings who will value you beyond the skills you bring to our company.
