Added 2022-06-28 21:42:13 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: BIOSPACE
Seeking experienced journalists to report on career and labor-related topics for BioSpace, an online publication that focuses on publishing content about the biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life science industries. The ideal applicant has experience writing in AP style, conducting interviews, and writing articles on tight deadlines. The articles will be aggregate-style pieces, and each article should include quotes from an interview that you conduct (with some exceptions--i.e., breaking news, research reports, etc.) Experience finding your own sources and conducting interviews alone is required. Please submit published writing samples with your application. Please only apply if your work has been published by a legitimate news organization.
Expectations: Looking to hire 2-3 journalists, and the ideal candidates would be able to write 1-2 articles a week. The editor can provide article topics, but it's a big plus if you can provide your own pitches. The content includes anything related to a person's career in the life sciences--finding a job, moving up in your career, statistics about labor, etc. The target audience is working professionals in the life sciences industry. Experience writing about life science is a plus, but it's not required.
Compensation: $75 per article. Each article should be around 750 words. Writers are paid and all assignments are given through UpWork.
