This is a PER ASSIGNMENT contributor position. $200-$400 per article.

VoxPopuli is a nonprofit digital news site that covers government, politics and social justice issues for Winter Garden, Ocoee, Oakland and Windermere. Our mission is to make government more transparent, hold business leaders and local political officials to account and cover communities typically overlooked by mainstream media.

We are looking for FREELANCE NEWS REPORTERS to work on assignment throughout our coverage area who have proven track records for writing factually accurate, lively news stories on short deadlines. Ideal candidates will have an interest in local government, politics and/or social justice issues. Photography and video skills a plus. BIPOC and LGBTQ candidates are encouraged to apply.

Submit a resume and cover letter that explains your interest in covering stories for VoxPopuli along with 3 news stories. (If you cannot follow these instructions, we will assume you cannot follow assignment instructions.)
