Contributing Writers wanted (Black entrepreneurs, business, etc.) | $250 per article

COMPANY/PUBLICATION: MOGUL MILLENNIAL

Mogul Millennial is a media-tech company built for Black founders and professionals. We’re looking for freelance contributing writers to join our team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Create mid-long form content

• We publish how-to articles and feature stories centered around successful Black entrepreneurs and corporate leaders
• Please note: We do not publish press releases. All articles must include:best practice tips
  tactical examples from Black business builders or from other successful companies/leaders
  actionable advice with clear examples
  
• *Also, all feature stories must not only highlight the subject, but should teach the readers about a specific topic (see below for examples)The cofounders of Lendtable on finding product-market fit & acquiring customers

  Need to attract customers? Create a landing page
  
• Writers are responsible for independently researching and writing pieces that attract and relate to our community of millennial and Gen-Z Black entrepreneurs and professionals.
• Feature stories must include interviews with subjects, as well as links to credible secondary sources and data.
• How-to articles must also include links to sources and data.
• Writers must be able to break down complex topics in a way that’s educational, relatable, and authentic to the Black community.

2. Follow our content style guide to write articles (we’ll share this with you once you’re on the team!)

3. Submit drafts on time to meet editing deadlines

4. Aim to have 1-2 articles published a month

5. Share weekly progress updates with Editor

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• 1+ years of writing experience
• A deep passion for Black culture and a love for creating resources to help this community grow
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to tell stories in a compelling way and break down complex topics
• A flexible schedule with the ability to meet article deadlines

HOW TO APPLY & WHAT TO EXPECT

Email us at hello@themogulmillennial.com and include “Freelance Writer ” in the subject line. In your email, please share the following:

• Your name
• Resume
• A brief cover letter detailing your interest in writing for Mogul Millennial
• 2 pitch ideas that you believe could be a great fit for our platform
• Links to your published work (if applicable)

From there, we’ll review your application and will contact you within a few days with an update.

If you’re selected to move forward, we’ll ask you to:

• Create a Google Doc and share one pitch idea centered around entrepreneurship or career development.
• Write the first 2 paragraphs of the article and then include a brief outline of how you would approach the rest of the article. In your outline, please be sure to include the following at a minimum:Who/what the article is about
  Why it’s important
  Any examples from Black business leaders (or other successful companies and biz leaders) that you would notate to further explain the topic at hand
