Writer wanted (software application help, knowledge base, guide) | 10 cents per word

My company is looking for a freelance writer who will create help and knowledge base articles describing parts of our software application and how users can accomplish different tasks. This is a business-to-business SaaS product in the area of employee surveying.

Writing tasks will entirely be in the form of ‘help articles’ using our customer service system, Help Scout.

YOU MUST…

• Have experience writing user guides and help articles for software
• Be able to create helpful, to-the-point, non-wordy articles
• Be adept at creating SEO-optimized content (most of these help articles will also serve to drive traffic to the website)
• Have excellent written communication skills in English
• Be independent with strong initiative
• Have experience or knowledge on the topics, or be willing to learn on your own

POSITION DETAILS

• You will be working as a contractor, not as an employee.
• Help articles will generally be 200-500 words, and they will consist of images and maybe videos that you will need to capture from the software platform.
• There is a large backlog of articles to complete as soon as possible (around 40). After that, you will need to update articles once new software features are deployed or the design of pages is changed.
• Pay structure is negotiable. Perhaps in the region of USD $0.10 per word or an hourly rate of USD 20. We can also pay in your local currency through Wise.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

• It’s pretty straightforward—we have a list of articles that need to be written. These either “how to x” or “what is x”-type articles. You’ll then write a guide about the topic. • Some articles may require more words and explanation, but most will be very straightforward like the above example.
• We do not have time to finely edit your material. I’ll of course provide comments and suggestions and feedback, but this position is not for you if you need extensive feedback on the mechanics of writing itself.
