We are always looking for articles, opinion pieces, and Q&A's on the intersection of gender, health and the environment/climate for our blog. This is how to pitch us!

HOW TO PITCH YARROW GLOBAL

Our blog Yarrow Global celebrities, explains and explores the intersection of gender equality, health, and the environment around the world. We publish a wide variety of pieces on the intersection of gender, health, and the environment with an interest especially in articles dealing with topics such as planetary health, climate change, reproductive rights and justice, decolonizing health systems, care work. We are excited to hear from new authors and voices, and welcome pitches dealing with gender, health, and/or the environment from around the world.

Generally, our articles fall into one of 5 categories:

• General articles. These fall between 1000-2500 words and generally explore or examine a topic at the intersection of gender, health, and the environment. They make a general argument, and use evidence, quotes, and interviews from experts to back up those claims.
• Q&A’s: These are based around an interview with an expert and can range between 1500-3000 words. They usually include a 300-500 word introduction to the topic and the expert and then an edited version of the interview.
• Opinion pieces: We are interested in publishing opinion pieces from experts in the field (we define this broadly - extensive lived experience counts as well as having a PhD or research experience). Most opinion pieces comment on current events or have a news hook
• Profiles: We are always interested in profiling people who have an interesting story to tell about gender. Maybe they have faced and overcome significant adversity, or have become gender champions in a specific field. These articles range from 800-1500 words and focus on a specific person or sometimes a specific organisation.
• Book reviews. If there is a current book that has made an impression or changed how we think or talk about gender, health, or the environment we are interested in hearing about that! A good book review will both give us a summary of the most relevant parts of the book and help our readers understand why and in what context it is relevant to discussions today.

For people whose primary income comes from writing (i.e those not employed by a university or research organisation, or who are full-time writers or journalists) we offer compensation between €150-400, depending on article type and experience.
