Pitches Wanted: Backpacking and Camping
We’re launching a new magazine specifically for people who sleep in the dirt: backpackers, bike packers, canoe campers, and lovers of other forms of self-propelled outdoor overnight travel. I’m currently looking for pitches to fill the first issue:
- Riveting adventure stories
- Profiles from the backpacking community
- Provocative ideas in the backpacking and adventure spaces
- Reviews of gear from small, indie, niche manufacturers
- Recommendations and expertise on special or unique backpacking destinations
- Photo-heavy features highlighting off-the-beaten-path backpacking destinations
- And more!

WHAT WE DON’T COVER:
- Destinations outside North America.
- Sports that don’t feature spending multiple days outdoors: Rock climbing, mountain biking, day skiing, etc.
- Backpacking in the “hostel hopping around Europe” sense.
