We are currently accepting pitches for personal essays about the following topics:
- Have you received pushback -- subtle or overt -- for attempting to advance in your job?
- Were you unfairly passed over for a promotion or raise while equally or less qualified male colleagues were rewarded?
- Have you had an experience that prompted you to redefine what being ambitious means to you? (For instance, a bad job that made you change your career goals, or a curveball in your personal life that reordered your priorities).
- Have you reconsidered how the way your family or community defined ambition has influenced your life choices?
- Another big topic we cover is the need to acknowledge womens’ milestones beyond marriage and motherhood, and would love to hear stories of how you’ve celebrated yourself or someone else (Examples: job promotion, business launch, debt payoff, divorce, buying your own place)
You can also pitch a reported or service-oriented piece on something like:
- Career tips from authoritative figures such as H.R. professionals and career coaches backed by research
- New research related to women in the workplace
