How can the fairy tale narrative help us understand the threat of climate change? We all know we need new stories to face a world with a changing climate. But what of the old stories, the fairy tales? Three more days to pitch Orion Magazine your idea on how the past and the future connect. The deadline for submissions is July 15, 2022. Send us pitches (no more than a page or two) for feature-length stories you’d like to write about the environmental origins and legacies of myths, folktales, and trickster tales. All of our print essays are paid assignments, beginning at $500 for the shortest pieces and increasing from there.
