Writers wanted (newsworthy content) | $1,000 per article

Seeking experienced writer / journalist (USA) for ongoing and long-term work to create newsworthy content around 1,000 – 1,500 words.
The content will ultimately be posted on my clients’ websites and then my PR firm will pitch it to media to try to get coverage that links back to the client’s site.
The content will usually include state rankings and be based off researching and analyzing publicly available federal data (FBI, Census, FTC, BLS, etc.) on a topic relevant to each client. From a PR standpoint, state rankings make the content relevant to media nationally and in each location.
Experience with excel formulas for averages and rates of change, pivot charts, etc. is important for this role.
A FEW EXAMPLES:
- For a client in the senior living space we did: “States with the Most Expensive Senior Living Facilities”
- For a client in the home security space, around the holidays we did “States Hardest Hit by Porch Pirates/Package theft.
- For a client in the workplace recruiting space, we did “Best States for Remote Workers” as the pandemic was hitting.
In the beginning, you will work with our Head of Content and myself on the entire process from ideation to completion. The goal being you can handle on your own from start to finish as soon as possible. Though we are always here to help.
The content will also have graphics to make reporting the data easily digestible. If you do graphic design that is great, if not we will pair you up with someone that does.
